All I did on the Ganzton was polish the needles shiny

Hi OMG, good to hear from you.  I've got one of these Ganzton brushes, too, bought as a cheapie to experiment with spraying enamels.  I haven't used it much, but it seems Ok so far.  What do you use to polish the needles?  I have some fine sandpaper & some micromesh cloths.

Vell, Zaphod's just zis guy, you know?

First I use 000 steel wool. Then toothpaste and finally Formula 1 Scratch out polish. Give them a bath and put on a light coat of glycerin or bees wax and wipe dry. On the Ganston it smoothed out the pattern and droplets quite a bit actually. I also put some bees waxon the tip threads in case those tiny seals leaked, so far so good.

I don't know if I mentioned it but a guy in another forum gave me that airbrush after helping him in a build off. He was under no obligation but I just said thank you and gave it a tune up.

Thanks for the tip, mate.  I've heard lots of recommendations for polishing airbrush needles, it's time I gave it a try.

And, to get back on topic, I have 3 brushes, all gravity-fed.  Before buying my first, I read many accounts on many sites, and decided that the air should be used to put paint on the subject, and not have to do the job of drawing paint from the well, too.  I use well-thinned paint & spray at about 15-20 PSI (however I have much yet to learnSmile)

Look at the needle tips with a magnifier because there could be a little bur there that needs sanding off with very fine paper very carefully that you don't see with the naked eye.. I had a needle on another airbrush that happened to. Works great now.

Also Don's airbrush forum has a tips section on polishing needles I believe. I think he uses compound on his own. Well I know he does it a bit differently than I do. I also know we aren't the only ones polishing airbrush needles on these forums too.
