So I order the 1102 from airbrushcity.com, week passes, no AB, call them, "very sorry, it's shipping today!"
Long story short, I'm upset, and want to cancel, they "upgrade" my order FOC to the 1620 kit.
So it arrives today, now, I've never used an AB, rattle cans yes of course, but no AB.
So I start with water, nothing, no gas, nadda!
Great! so my first job with the new AB is to strip the damm thing down and remove the great gobs of grease on the O-ring in the poppet valve. K, air flowing, water coming out
I had some acrylic paint from an old project, so mixed it with water, just so I can some sort of spray, cool.
Few problems with spatter(too much gas I think)
Wish I'd gone with acrylics for the model, clean up is a breeze.
There are no instructions with this brush, so I have no idea how or what to adjust to control the flow of paint? the needle assembly screws in and out, but appears to have little or no effect on flow? is it purely done from the second stage trigger(pull back)?
I'm in the proccess of putting up a spray booth(home made,I'll post details morrow for the cheap amongst us)
So I will try the enamels morrow, but I can see that it will be a very hit and miss affair, at least for me.
I don't think airbrushcity is the best choice for a novice, as the instructions are...well, non existant! the brush seems well made, I would imagine it's a Badger copy in many ways, that probably does not make it a bad brush, but I feel the instructions should be improved. That and having to strip it down out of the box, not a great sign!
