Question on washes and when to "clean up"
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, September 21, 2005 9:38 AM
Hi everyone---I'm building a great Tamiya kit, the Fairey Swordfish, and am about to apply a dark wash to the fuselage...Is it possible to use the wash(enamel) and let it sit and clean up later? If so, How much later.?..I find that if I clean up right away, I lose a lot of the wash from the details I want emphasized. Help!---W W II Bill

I never, ever use enamel washes but I have been told by someone who does use them frequently that it is necessary to get the excess off within about 5 minutes or you can forget it. Again, I don't know that for a fact and am just passing along what I was told.
