Harbor Freight Airbrush compressor

I just got mine last week and after several days of using it I would say it's well worth the money spent.

It's runs the psi needle up to 35psi while not being used and it drops down to 10psi when in use. (Theres no storage tank on it.)

It's made in China (big surprise) and the brass fittings didn't have a taper to them so they wouldn't tighten down like you would expect.

What I used in the past was an air tank that I kept having to refill, and according to the gauge I had setup on it I ran around 25 psi while painting.

The 10psi from the compressor seems to have more air flow and I get much better results than from the tank. Seemed smoother if that makes sense. I was spraying MM gloss red acrylics using Tamiya thinner.

I would give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Just my 2 cents worth to anyone thinking of getting one.

I have seriously considered one of these. Is it quite? I really wanted something with a storage tank so it doesn't run all the time, but I guess if its cheap and reliable? I am painting with an air tank right now to, its amazing how fast that thing runs out of air!

Yes it’s quite.

I thought the same thing about it not having an air tank and it running all the time, but after looking at the parts view and using it, I’ve come to the conclusion it’s made to run that way.

Plus if you think about it, how long do you really spend painting in one sitting.

This is true. I think the longest I actually spend spraying is probably 15 minutes, and that counts blowing thinner through it after I'm done. I'm gonna have to look into one of these. Thanks Scott.

I just ordered this compressor a few days ago and am waiting to get my hands on it.  For a first-time airbrusher (and only $49.99 plus S/H), your post was great news to me.
