I think the best thing for both me and the airbrush's health is to call it a night, go ahead and place my order tomorrow morning and wait. I'll get this thing sorted out but not tonight or this week or else I might have an airbrush shaped hole in my drywall!

Nice thing FSM included my sign!Sign - With Stupid [#wstupid]

MikeV,

You recommended the Badger 100 over the TC Omni 4000 ,and before I hit the submit order button at Dixie Art tomorrow morning, I was just curious as to why. The Badger uses a multi-tip/needle setup..right? The Omni is single tip/needle...right? I was leaning towards the Omni for that reason though I really don't mind having a multi tip/needle setup.

Also does either of those airbrushes require a special hose, such as a Badger hose? Or can I continue to use my Paashce hose which has a built in water trap filter?
Thanks

Rob,

Either one of the airbrushes will work great for you so buy the one you like better.
I use the Omni 4000 more than all the others but it seems that the 100LG atomizes the paint a little better for freehand camo paint jobs for me personally.

Has your Paasche been used quite a bit over the years?
It is possible that your needle bearing is worn out and is not sealing well and that is why your airbrush is not picking up paint.
Also do this, pray a little windex, 409 or soapy water on the outside of the airbrush head and push the trigger down to see if there are a lot of bubbles there.
If there are you may want to get a thin strip of Teflon tape and wrap it around the threads there to seal the head better. Don't make the tape too wide as it can plug the holes in the airbrush body there at the tip.

There's the shipping map from their website...Looks like anywhere from 5-6 days for California and 2 days for me ( though on that map it also says to allow up to 3 days for processing! ). If gas wasn't so outrageous I would just hop in the car and say "road trip" and make the 2-1/2 hour drive and pick it up. I don't have good luck with UPS and never really have.

O got an email saying it's at UPS already & should be here on the 24th.Big Smile [:D] I just checked the tracking on it & it's sitting in Jackson,MS as of 10:27pm  (Central time?) I guess that's it. will be glad to get my regulatorTongue [:P]

I had a new experience this weekend... I got to play with an Iwata Eclipse for a little bitBig Smile [:D] It seemed like a reall nice brush to work with.
I was at Circus Circus in Reno & was watching the gal A/B T-shirts. When she was done, I was asking her which A/B she was using. Things led from one to another and next thing I know she let me play with itMischief [:-,]  She had like 6 of them at the ready & was more than happy to talk shop. I learned a few things from herTongue [:P]

Mike,
Where's the needle bearing? I've got a schematic but don't know which part it would beDunce [D)] I've offered to give this to someone and if I can fix this before sending it off, I would feel better about it. Thanks!

I'll take a gander at this: part # 97VL137A is the Needle Support. Possibly the bearing? But, others will know more than I.Shy [8)]

It is 99 MU61 in that schematic.
Most need to be replaced by the factory as they are hard to do yourself.

Mike, would you get "blow by"(small amount of air flowing out at the tip) if the bearing was bad? I have a couple of Paasche AB's that are old and I want to rebuild them.

What is going on with the airbrush?
Small amount of air flowing out at the tip?
Is that while not pressing the trigger down?
What airbrush is it?

Sorry about the lack of detail in my question. I looked at the first page. It's an old VL the other is a H. I just hooked them up. My question might be premature, they look clean after non use for several years. But they seem to be "Sticky". I will disassemble them and make sure they are internally clean. The factory refurb. part about the bearing got me thinking about them. I probably spoke too soon. Again sorry, and thank you for your time. Your knowledge is greatly appreciated.
