I've switched to Scalpels..... they seem to last alot longer.... And are more flexible.

i bought a set up some years back that holds the hobby knife
at the correct angle against a little stone.
it works pretty well. at least at extending blade life,
and for putting a good edge on a decent blade.

i will fish around at home and see if i can find out what it is called.

I sharpen mine up a bit with a stone (fine). Sometimes you can use a multi-grit sanding stick (or fingernail buffer) to sharpen them up too. I find that I can get them pretty sharp, but they don't seem to hold their edge as long as a new blade. Perhaps my technique isn't the best...

I've also found that scalpel blades seem to work better/longer... I use that most often now.

HEY,
You can order from micro-mark on the net or from their free ctalog. Just go to their website. I think they take money orders and stuff if you dont have a credit card.

I have tried to sharpen used blades once or twice, but wasn't satisfied with the result. I don't consider it worth the trouble and just obtain new blades instead of messing about or buying special sharpening tools. You have to realise that the sharper a blade is, the safer you can work with it.Thumbs Down [tdn]
