Are scribing templates worth having?
Posted by MikeV on Tuesday, September 21, 2004 11:45 PM
I have been looking at the Verlinden scribing template and was wondering if these or any other brand are worth buying or not?
Do those of you that have them, use them that often, or do you find it is something that is rarely used?
They seem like they would come in handy for shapes that would be hard to do otherwise, such as circles and such.

Thanks

Mike

that's affirmative Mike......imo
i've the (two PE) Verlinden inspection panel templates.....
My 2 cents [2c].......if you're look'in to add any scribed surface detail.......oval inspection panels and the like, these templates are indespensible......

I've got the Verlinden set and don't know what I'd do without them. I also still use the origional scribing template I've used for years, an erasing template I got at an office supply store.

Mike, they are indispensable for doing round or oval inspection/access panels. I have both the 1/48 & 1/72 Verlinden guides. Don't use them a lot, but boy are they handy when you do need them.
