spray booth plans?
Posted by glock232 on Sunday, October 3, 2004 10:29 PM
Does anyone have some plans for a spray booth they can share with me? I have never seen one in person to know the details of how they are set up. I have the general concept tho.. spray paint in, fan sucks fumes out and filters it.. I am pretty limited in my work area and think ill be better off building one if i can find a design for one.

Thanks

Joe,

If you're know how to do sheetmetal work, one of the best sets of plans and instructions for building a paint booth was done By Gordon Odegard in Model Railroader magazine in March 1988 (I believe). And there was an article on building a wooden paint booth a couple of years ago in Fine Scale Modeler (sorry don't remember the exact date). Copies of either article can be gotten from the respective magazine (for a small fee). I was preparing to build the metal booth when I stumbled across a used booth for sale in one of the LHS's I frequent which, at $50 was a whole lot cheaper that I could have bought a factory unit. And only a few dollars more than what the parts would cost me for a home made unit.
