In need of F-14B/D scale drawings
Posted by congo79 on Thursday, October 23, 2014 5:58 AM

Well, the title says it all. I'm in desperate need of  F-14B/D line drawings. I've got more than 20 books and magazines for the Tomcat, but all that have drawings included  are about the F-14A. A good friend of mine wants me to build his Italeri 1/48 F-14B packed with quite a lot of resin goodies /of course non of it is for the Italeri kit/, but if you are familiar with the Italeri rendition you will well know that it misses all of the specific details for a B. The biggest issue is the nozzles and the whole tail section which i'll have to scratchbuild to make it look like a B and that's why i need scale drawings for the cat.

I really hope somebody would help me with a nice set of plans!

Man... I have some actual schematics used... But I can't find them... If I can find them I scan them up and post here but I can't promise anything.

Ok. Sorry it took so long to get back to you on this. I can't find the plans I had anywhere. My dad (he actually worked on the D Tomcat) gave me a copy of the manual but I lost it somewhere in my room. He donated the manual and drawings to the local American Airpower Museum so I'll drop by there tomorrow and ask them if I can get some copies.

Ok. I have the manual here. But it's a multiple-hundred page book. Is there anything specific you're looking for?

My main interest is around the engines, including intakes and burner cans, and the rear part of the plane.

I have to apologize for the quality. I tried scanning it through a multifeed scanner, the type that pulls the sheet in, and since these papers are original A Plus/B/D... it didn't so well. I had to scan them on a copier type scanner. Kind of cut some parts off in the scanned image. But you'll also be getting some extras here too.

Only two sheets as the rest are just explanations of various switches on the panels..
