Finishing Heller’s 1/72 scale DC-6B with SnJ paints and powder, Patrick identifies the plane as Butler Aviation’s Tanker 68. He got the cheat line decals from Liveries Unlimited and had a friend print the tail numbers. Working for the U.S. Forest Service, Patrick says he once helped load this plane with fire retardant. “Last I heard, the airframe was retired from firefighting and sold back to American Airlines, which was planning to restore it,” he says.
