Paul Correa, Bowling Green, Kentucky
It's in 1/72 scale, but you can’t say Paul doesn’t know how to go big! “The diorama represents the German rail gun Dora as it appeared outside Stalingrad in August 1942. It is truly incredible how much went into the design and construction of the real gun (one of two built) and how few shots it actually fired in anger. It required quite a few more men than the 56 figures I have displayed.” Look closely and before the HobbyBoss Dora you’ll see (from left): a Kübelwagen and a Storch liaison plane, from Academy; a Kettenkraftrad from Hasegawa; and an SdKfz 9 FAMO from Revell Germany. “Not that I have a particular thing for rail guns,” Paul says, “but I intend to assemble and display Leopold in 1/35 scale.” He also expressed his sincere appreciation to his wife for her understanding and patience.
