Maurizio Laudisa

Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Maurizio built the AMP 1/48 scale Mario Castoldi Macchi M.C.72. He noted that the geometry of the floats was tricky to get right. Maurizio opted for 0.3mm steel wire instead of the too-thin photo-etched metal strips that came with the kit, painted, and made locator holes to improve the resilience of the attachment points. He sprayed Aquagloss Gloss varnish over Tamiya Ferrari Red and then polished it with 1000- to 3000-grit sandpaper, Tamiya Polishing Paste, and lots of elbow grease. For the metallics, Maurizio used AK Extreme Metal Aluminum and Brass.
