I got into modeling at the age of 7 from a birthday present. Made a glue-glopped mess of an indy car, but I finished it, worked on it from the time the party broke up, until 11pm that night. I have no idea how many I built as a kid, 2 or 3 a week usually. I was a fanatic, you could say.
I decided at 17 that it was time for the real thing and joined Uncle Sam's Canoe Club as an A-6 Intruder Airframe mechanic. My modeling days were well and truly finished until 35 years later this past Christmas when my wife and daughter gifted me the 1/350 Nimitz. MY ship!
So, I am currently assembling my airwing with aged, unpracticed hands, without an airbrush, (yet). I fully intend to do proper justice to this kit, now that I have the time and the means.
