About Cpt-Shmitt

I began modeling around the age of 14 due to my intrigue and fascination of the Battle of Britain, WW2, WW1 and then on to military history. My first ever model to be built was a 1/48 scale Revell Spitfire MK1, and like many first models, its usually the best paid to detail... I focused on every aspect, I bought all the paint needed and I did very well... Unfortunately, being young the first to break off was the landing gear and then the propellers. (when you're young you sometimes forget that it's not made to play with as a toy).

Next was the (I prefer 1/48 scale)  Dornier Do 217 which I painted in the likeness of the "Where Eagles Dare" JU-52. I didn't do as good as the spitfire but at least the prop and landing gear stayed on. After came some "Not so good" models, second spitfire I never even painted, just slapped on the decals... I did a respectable job on the Heinkel HE111 using the Battle of Britain summer 1940 paint scheme, but the border between two of the colors were separated (masking tape too far from paint edge)  and the left gear was bent so the wheel wouldn't stay on. After a few other planes (some not so good, but some were) such as my Messershmitt bf 109 G-10 which I did a excellent (debatable) job with the Berlin paint scheme, I went on to tanks... First was a Panther 3 F (or H) which I never painted apart from the treads, had to through it away. Then the Tiger 1 early version, which I did paint in the original field grey (coal skuttle) I liked the Tiger due to "Kelly's Heroes" and I just liked the turret. Next came the Panzer iv w/ Akrika Korps yellow and green... Then the Sherman M4, then King Tiger which I Plan to  airbrush it but I don't have enough practice or enough supplies and or workspace to use it properly. (My King Tiger still sits on the shelf waiting for me to paint it... I feel sorry for it)
