I started building models in the mid-late 80s when I was 9 or 10. Twisting parts off the sprues, painting everything with Testors enamel, the usual. A few cars, a few planes, a few Star Wars ships (naturally). More often than not I was disappointed with the outcome, and eventually I gave it up.
25+ years later I happened back into it when a friend gave me a model as a Christmas gift. Come to find out, I’m a whole lot better at modeling than I used to be. More coordinated. More patient. Plus, now I have plenty of money to buy any supplies I need. And the Internet exists! Man, does that make all the difference.
So now I’m slowly building up old skills and learning new ones. Trying to learn something new with every kit I build. And starting to shop for airbrushes…
