We are Iggy & Seb, two brothers who love classic cars, especially junk cars.
As children we used to play in our grandfather’s junkyard and collect rusty pieces from the greatest classic cars. We used to take them home to restore them, to exhibit them in our bedroom or just to collect them.
Living in an apartment in the downtown area of a big city, it was just not possible to have all the car parts we would've loved to have.
Big, dirty, rusty parts like bumpers, wheels, etc.... It was just too much for our bedroom - and for our parents!!
Time has passed by but our passion for classic cars and junkyards, has only grown. One day, we realised we just had to pick up that fantastic hobby again.
The pictures of old grandpa’s junkyard, the great moments, the glorious classic cars, the jewels in the rust - these were always in our heads together with those great classic American Junkyards on the Route 66.
At the beginning we used to build scale model car kits following the instructions and adding lots of details we had seen in pictures of real cars from books, magazines collection or model car contests.
We built amazing showroom models. We even built showcases out of real car parts we collected at grandpa’s junkyard to store and display the models.
But then, one day, we thought: Why not create the junkyard of our dreams ourselves?
We started with one single model junk car, and we freaked out!
We realized, why not share our passion and our experience
in model making with others? A few months later, we started our blog blog.modeljunkyard.com
