Hello,
I'm Nezih Icoz, I was born in 1980 in Istanbul, Turkey. I studied fine arts and graphic design I am working in advertising & marketing industry over 15 years as an art director, photograph retoucher and illustrator.
Ever since my childhood i've been interested in airplanes, war history and military vehicles. Top Gun Movie has been changed my life as so many children in 80s. My first model my was an Airfix Messerschmitt Bf109F. My mom gave me this kit on my 11th birthday.
It was the begin of my modeling addiction and still continue as much as first day. Many of my artworks awarded in national air museum modeling contests and other national modeling organizations.
Generally I like to build propeller airplane model kits especially World War II planes but also I've started to build any kind of models in different scales. From battleships to historical figures, many models have been added my bench
In my opinion, for the building high quality, impressive model kits, there is four golden rules. Research, correct accuracy, realism and imaginations... These four golden rules are activate each other and without any of them, high quality modeling results is impossible.
Research is big part of the building scale model kits. For making sure correct accuracy and creating imagination, historical research and knowledge is the most important key. Reference books, military documents and original photos... Without them, this rules doesn't work. The artistic process is the mixing of research, imagination and building experience. Adding extra equipments, dirt and mud and creating compositions, special extra resin details or photo etched details, painting schemes etc. when there is an idea without perfect execution it doesn't make sense.
Thanks for the reading and best wishes
