I was a huge builder of plastic model kits when I was a teenager back in the late 70's. Back then, I built primarily 1/24 scale model cars and trucks. I did a few airplanes and naval ships as well. My biggest undertaking back then was Revell's 1/96 scale USS Constitution. It took me approximately 6-7 months to complete. However I built it primarily OOB. It turned out decent considering I had not attempted such a complicated build before that.
Well I have decided to get back into model building since I had more time on my hands. My kids are grown now and my fiance' and I do spend a lot of time at home. I have decided to take another run at the Constitution. She is a beautiful, historic ship. But this time, paying special attention to detail and authenticity. After she is complete, I will then take my first shot at a wooden ship model ! The ones I see on this site are absolutely amazing !
In addition to model building I enjoy bowling, watching football and baseball, spending time with my beautiful fiance' and hanging with my one year old grandson, Luke.
I live in Canyon Country, CA and work in nearby Montrose in the healthcare field...
