born 12/29/52 in Cameron, Texas. I've lived in Texas most of my life except for 14 months spent in Geelong, Victoria, Australia. I've been married 39 years and have two grown, married children-a boy and a girl. I have two wonderful grandsons too, one from my son and one from my daughter and a beautiful grandaughter courtesy of my son and daughter -in-law, born on Election Day, Nov. 8, 2016. I support the Second Amendment and financially support 7.62x39 and 7.62x51 ammo manufacturers in several countries. 
I taught Social Studies to 7th and 8th graders in a small rural school for 17 years, having returned to college (Texas A&M) at the age of 42 and earned my BA in History in Dec. 1997. Prior to that, I was a professional painter and before that I worked 13 years as a tinsmith/sheet-metal mechanic. I retired from teaching this year. I spend a lot of time on my ranch, Brokenoak, in the country and enjoying those grandkids!
