Long time modeler, first time on forums!
I made around 200 plastic and balsa wood models over my life time.
Currently working on Guillows Spirit of St.Louis,
I made the decals by using smithsonian photographs and photoshop to seperate the actual paint from photos.
I also just finished the Strombecker DC-3 that is my avitar. It is from around 1949. It is my first solid wood kit. I made the decals buy scanning in the decal sheet, Cleaning up the art, and printing it out on water slide ink jet paper. The decals turned out nice but are a little thick for my taste. I used microsol and clear laquer but they still look too thick ... anyway ...
