By way of background, I'm male in my early 30's living in Brisbane, Queensland.
I first started modelling in the mid 1980's (with the help of parents) before being deemed responsible enough to use super glue without adult supervision.
I would build models whenever i could (normally presents etc) and eventually even started to paint them - most i never finished painting.
By start of high school, i was painting the entire model and would normally churn out a few each holiday period. Unfortunately the modelling table was always packed away during the school term.
I took a break mid-teens due to high school and uni. I finally came back to the hobby about 10 years later in my mid-20s with a full time job and no responsibilities (read more disposable income than ever before or even now!).
I celebrated my return by buying my first airbrush, every paint i'd ever wanted and stocking up on kits.
Up to that point, I'd only built modern jets and helos. However, my eyes have been opened, and i now also love WWII aircraft and armour (esp German).
I'm a very very slow builder, only finishing about 3 models per year, but starting about twice as many.
UPDATE:
Now in my mid-30's and married. Have been on quite an armour kick, having acquire mostly armour kits for the past 2 years. Still buying some aircraft but not as many.
Have developed a fancy for modern armour too now - especially self-propelled artillery pieces and MRAPs.
Have sped up my build time, last year (2015) i completed 7 kits.
