Hi there my name is colin and I come from a little place down under called new zealand pretty much the last stop before the south pole, I mostly model second world war aircraft 1/72 -1/48 -1/32 scale, But also model tanks, figures all scales and motorcycles. I have been modeling since I was a young boy but had a big break away from it in my mid teens and had another go at it in my mid 20's doing mainly motorcycles and then again in my late 30's till now with my passion being mainly Luftwaffe single prop and twin prop aircraft for the main reason being the interest in the many different camo schemes and colour variation, as I enjoy airbrushing diferrent schemes and colours I find it very rewarding. Dont get me wrong I love all types of aircraft, first world war to jet fighters I have modeled P51 mustang, Spitfire, wildcat, hellcat, hawker typhoon, corsair,& F15C eagle all 1/72 scale. We have a big challenge down here in NZ getting hold of certain kits is not easy Hasegawa kits are hard to come by you can only usually get them off the net they are very hard to come by( all scales) I find them my most popular kits because they have a wide variety especially what I am interested in. So we find ourselves fighting over the very scares kits that are availible on our trade me sight which is like ebay but alot more limited. Most things are hard to come in NZ we dont have anyone who does after market material eg; decals, photoetched, cockpit detail, resin etc,etc so we find most things searching the web far and wide.I have a few projects on the go at the moment my most recent being a Bf 109 E3 Heinz bar 1/48 with a little photoetched grills thrown in the air intakes from some left over 1/72 dragon T34 tank photoetched parts. some up and coming projects are my Hasegawa 1/32 kits a Focke wulf 190 A5 with missing decals which I will have to find some replacements for, My BF 109 G10, and my BF 109 E4 which Im trying to find a replacement pilot for, As the kit one is below average and I want a detailed one but I am finding it very differcult to find there are a limited few on the web but are very exspensive to buy from NZ as everything is at least double the price from here and freight costs alot because we are so far away so I am trying to find some unused surplus ones which is how i found this sight. Cheers happy modeling everyone, I might try and post some pics oneday when I figure out how to do it.
