I got my first model kit when I was about 8. I don't think I've stopped since then...
To me, there can't be much better of a hobby than scale models. I tell my wife that it's what keeps me sane... When I'm in the throws of a particularly difficult kit with lots of fidley bits, I begin to see, though, why she has trouble understanding that!
I build aircraft, space craft (real and sci-fi) and ships. I've never dabbled in armor or figures, other than the cursory ones that populate my dioramas. Since I'm just beginning to get into digital photography, I intend to put up photos of my work one day soon.
I grew up in the birthplace of aviation, and I developed a strong love for anything that flies. While I never was able to learn to fly myself, I have done what I think of as the next best thing - building models that look like they could fly!
When I'm not working on models, I make a lifing as a project manager for a healthcare company, and I do my best to pass on my hobby to my three kids, though none of them seem to be interested so far. Maybe I'll have to wait for the grandkids...
Happy modeling, everyone!
