Like most of us, I built models as a kid...then in college I wandered into the local hobby shop and picked out a kit to help me get through the long Michigan winter. It was a huge B-29 kit. The most impressive thing about it was the diorama that was created for the box. This added a whole new dimension and I was hooked.
I picked up Shep Paine's "How to build Dioramas' and must have read it at least 20 times! I managed to knock out a P-51 diorama and a Sherman tank diorama and won awards from that same hobby shop.
After some time away building my career and a family, I've got the bug again. My six year old thinks its cool. I've always loved WWII aircraft. The day I got to fly in a B-17 was a highlight and a dream come true. Hope to build up a collection of my favorite aircraft!
