I'm currently retired, after 34 years in commercial television. Now I'm a relaxed photographer and illustrator, getting back to model-building. Here's my bio from my photography website:
Words.
Never was good with words.
Speaking, writing, not my thing…I’m a visual type.
I learn by watching. I express ideas with art or photography (or both).
I grew up painfully shy, retreating to my fantasy worlds, drawing when I could, then taking pictures when I was old enough to handle a camera.
I got into rock bands (singing other people’s words), theatre and tv (speaking other people’s words), voiceover work (speaking other people’s words), thirty-some years in television (silent behind the camera while other people spoke).
I’m an observer, using a camera or an airbrush to share my thoughts and observations.
Over the years, my paintings began to look like photographs…my photographs began to look like paintings.
It’s all art.
Spoken without words.
My preference in model-building is sail - CONSTITUTION, MAYFLOWER, etc - but am also working on a model of the current USS KEARSARGE. I built a wreck of the TITANIC, just after the wreck was first discovered, for a documentary.
