I'm Patrick, age 72, living in Oregon, retired commercial pilot. Active modeler since about age 8, mostly scale plastic aircraft, some balsa freeflight. Scale airliners, WWll through current military, helicopters and bush/floatplanes.
Use airbrushes, Paasche V - VL - H and Talon, plus Badger 155. Only enamels, Model Master and Humbrol, like them, but bought several Tamiya acrylics and will try this weekend. Any advice/hints/tips about acrylics for a newbie appreciated.
Mostly 1:72 scale, needs less space and I like the challenge. I never keep them, others like getting them and I enjoy the building. Have a good shop area, bench, spray booth, fan ducted to outside, great lighting which really helps, at my age the eyes are getting a bit tired.
Worldwide travel during career meant dozens of hobby shops to visit, even my very patient wife has to stretch her limits since I still have more than 140 in the stash. How foolish can a grown man be?????
Best to you all.
Patrick
