usernames and the real fsm magazine
Posted by wackjob on Sunday, March 29, 2009 9:28 AM

I read the magazine all the time and I see peoples names  whether on an article , a tip , or in the readers gallery .

my idea would be to put the people's forum names next to their real name ,this would allow some of us to put a face so to speak  to a name . this of course is if it is OK with the person

That would be nice, but then again there's alot of modelers who aren't members of this forum. So some people would have usernames and others wouldn't, thus it would become confusing for some readers of the mag.

I think this would be a nice feature, and I don't think that it would confuse anyone if the naming was done properly. It would be a nice tie-in to the forum and would give forum regulars the opportunity to recognize their forum friend's pics and articles in the magazine.

So long folks!

One of the things you can do to help get your real name out there is to set your profile so that you have our user name, but then on your profile page, your real name shows. If you click on my user name, you'll see my real name on the profile page, as well as a little bit of personal information that fleshes me out a bit. You still have your "real" name as your user name. Are you in the Witness Protection Program? LOL! Wink [;)]Laugh [(-D]

When I was published in FSM for the first time, they included my user name "the doog" in the "About the Author" box.  But you can get a little more name recognition by using your real name in your profile.
