Still smarting from the A$$-whooping I gave you in our PM's IYAYAYAAYS?

How regrettable but perhaps, predictable for you to break into to a sincere and kindly stated complimentary thread, offering nothing but a tawdry remark like that.

Please don't try to take the high road on this--both you and I know your remark wasn't made in humor. Boy, it's a shame that you decided to take the "lurk and lash out" appraoch as to your participation here, instead of engaging this wonderful community here with more positive and meaningful interaction as I had suggested.

Just remember Buddy; participation on this forum IS voluntary, but it is an option that can be removed through proper channels...

Get him Doog!  Being a friend of Dox's, and having seen some of his work, he is in the right place.  Dox, ignore the jerks, and befriend the good guys.  You are more than welcome here.  Keep building along the lines you are, and you will only get better.  With all our help of course.  LOL!!!!!!

I have a little favor to ask everyone. Would it be too much of an imposition to take up private beefs with others through the Private Message venue? It's just that my kids also like to read the Forum, and being reasonably intelligent, they can decipher thinly-veiled potty words such as the one quoted above. I keep telling them grownups don't conduct themselves in this manner, but then they read openly hostile thread replies like this! I understand that some people can be annoying and can cause a strong urge to strike back at them. But it might better serve the Forum community as a whole, especially the youth, if we adults were to set good examples of mature conduct, which cannot be exemplified by using euphemisms and negative responses. If someone gets under your skin, try to rise above it. And if you can't, please don't drag the Forum down by publicly stooping to their level. Let cooler heads prevail. Remember, this is supposed to be a safe haven for family use. There's not many places on the web that are safe, clean, and fun. So let's not wreck this, too. I get enough bad attitude from people during the day. Why would I want to come here and get more?Smile [:)]

I realize that there will be a small percentage of users who don't comprehend what I'm saying, so if you're among those who's going to send me a Nasty-Gram for having the audacity to suggest we keep things clean and positive, please do so via the P.M. function.

Kindest regards-

- Mark

Sorry, Modelnerd, but this guy and I already had it out in the PM's and I'm just not entertaining the idea of "entertaining" him in such a manner again and being the target of his "lurking' commentary any longer. I thought that if I just put things on the table for alll to see, he'd get the message and hopefully, hear it from others who also know and have a "history" with him as well.

I had an "issue" with you quite recently, and handled it in the PM's to a satisfying resolution.

I'm not trying to sink to anybody's level here, and if you perceive it that way, I regret that. As for your kids, I'm sure they hear worse in school!

I admit this was out-of-character for me, but it was a calculated move; tried to really "reach" this guy through the PMs, and he just keeps pi**ing on my parade. I'm not going to engage in the pointless banter of the PMs when the first time got me NOWHERE but more enigmatic, "wink-wink" posts.

Anyway, I agree that your post and sentiments contained therein are valid points, and I will take them under consideration in the future.

.. to return to the original 'tone" of the post... I was catching up on my FSM, thought your article was your Hetzer build up (I had seen headers in the armor forum about you getting published in FSM)... then I read "The" article on FSM, was astounded at the quality and originality, then realized it was "your" article. Was a truly incredible work, and the fact that you take the time to answer posts from newbies makes it even nicer..cheers!

And to the OP, this forum is where I get 85% of my info, hints/tips and help... many MANY quality modelers who take the time off to help newbies or hobby returnees like myself.

I just happened to drop into this section today.  Caught up on reading the posts.  Let me say Welcome to a new forum member.

Doog - Now that I am reading FSM and getting same on a regular basis, I was always wondering who was doing the fantastic work and article(s).  Great to put a face to an extremely talented person.

From my modeling, I model on the principal (at least at this stage), build for your enjoyment, if you like the finished model and did your best, that is what counts.  Learn from the first and improve slowly.  Build for your relaxation and enjoyment.

A word of wisdom from an old geezer Laugh [(-D], PaPa-John: The young can learn from the older (and sometimes wiser, but not always), and the older (I mean, matured) can learn new things from the younger as they can be quite brilliant and innovative in their own way.  We can learned from each other, it is being open minded and willing to accept new ideas from young and old.   Resistance to change is the biggest stumbling block in all walks of life.

95 percent of the people are decent people and the other 5 percent, well I'll leave it at that. My previous line of work proved this to me.  Just consider the source (CTS) and don't fret it, life is too short and precious.

Enjoy life to the fullest, strive to do the best you can.  The forum is a happy meeting place for everyone.  It pulls people together from around the world who have a common interest, modeling, no matter what genre of plastic you like to glue, kitbash or dream up a new creation. We are what we dream.

Toast to the forum and magazine.

PaPa-John

The Doog

I may not be full of wisdom, but sometimes I can hit the right chord and sound that way.  I came up through a rough home life, and my wife now and then instills in me, that it is truly amazing I turned out the way I did, with what I went through.  I have learned somethings through the school of hard knocks.  I am truly blessed that my two children have turned out to be wonderful people.  I guess I have done somethings right.

You strike me as an intelligent person who can think outside of the box.  Keep at it my friend, I see you going places and you have a great future ahead of you.  The same goes for the people on this forum.  I see great talent and kindness from in the people gracing this forum.

Well Doog, Merry Christmas to you and your family and friends.  Keep us learning by your skills in modeling and others entertained with your musical talents.

PaPa-John

I must say that I enjoy reading articles written by one of us and hope FSM will continue to do it more often.

Doog, I must say that your work is superb and looking forward to see more of your work published.  By the way Doog, it seems like you have made to his "Victim of the Month" so please don't buy into it and Do not feed the trolls [troll].  Believe me, I've been targeted by him and been verbally abused by him up until few months ago.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays my friend!
