GB Badges
Posted by RBaer on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 1:29 PM

Okay, I'm a dummie, plus I've never before actually finished anything I was doing for a GB, so forgive me for asking, plus a search didn't turn up anything.....

How does one go about adding a badge to one's signature?

Where you add your sig, you can add the image there the same way as posting a pic in a post.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

it's the same code you use for posting pics.

Trying that, we'll see.....

So I go to the GB in question, click on the badge and I get FSM's  p-bucket pic of the badge. I then clicked on the IMG link, saved, went to my own profile, edit, added the link to my sig, saved. Waiting to see if it worked,

Thanks.

By gosh, it worked, but I have code all over the pic. Ideas? Different link on p-bucker? I used the bottom option, "Img"

IMG should have worked. Try erasing the all that RL=http://bla bla bla and see what that does.

Hmmmm. When you copy an image from PB do you just click on the "IMG" code and let it copy for you? Then do you click on the "insert image" icon in the tool bar and copy the code to the

"Enter the URL for the media that you would like to use."

bar, then hit insert?

Sorry for the long questions.

No, I'm on a Mac, so I click on the "IMG" code, then "command C", then go to my profile and "command V" which just cuts and pastes the code.

Everything is good except, when you go to your profile, go to the "insert image" icon in the tool bar. It's a little computer screen with a +. Once you click on it, there will be a box pop up with a field to put in the URL.

Command V in there, and hit the insert button. You should see your patch come up.

Got it!  Now I can't get back to the PB image, all I get is the image on a black field. Gee whiz, Wally....

Edit... But lookie there, I just copied the url on the toolbar, worked like a champ.

No prob. I just know how frustrating is is and how much I struggled with my patches. When you want to get multiple patches on let me know. The signature line will only allow 500 charterers.

Ugh, now I want to get more than two patches in there. Just how do we get around the character limit?

Brandon,

OK, it was real easy, once I figured it out. What I do is right click on the patch I want and Save the image into a folder in my pictures (you probably already do this). Open a new "Word" document and copy each patch you want onto the word document. You can move and resize the patches all you want there. Once you have what you want, highlight, copy and paste into your "Paint" program. As you probably know, you already have the "Paint" program which comes with computer.
Go to Photobucket, Imageshack, Flicker, or whichever program you use, and upload your paint image into it. From there just put your new picture into your signature line as usual.

Let me know if you have any problems.

Steve
