You might be better off putting this in the dio section, you should get more responses.
I print mine off on card. I make the image on paint.net then save it and then put it into a word doc so I can make sure its the right size. For some reason, when I set the image size on paint, it comes out a bit smaller. Once its printed out, I then put some clear sticky plastic over it (the name escapes me at the moment) then stick it to a piece of balsa cut to size and stained the same as the edging. After that, put some holes in and I screw it to the base.
Just decide what you want on the name plate. I usually have a national flag and then some sort of insignia that relates to the subject with the aircraft/vehicle name in between along with unit details.
