Forum take forever to load with Chrome
Posted by wing_nut on Thursday, March 12, 2015 6:25 PM

used to work fine.  Great in fact.  Lately it has been taking fooooorrreeevveer for the forum to load, if it does at all.   Done in the lower left corner I will get a line that says

Waiting for pubads.g.doubleclick.net

This does affect any... not a single one... of any other website I try to go to.  Just FSM.

Any ideas?

I will ad I am running antivirus software and I regularly scan with SpyHunter too.

Oh yeah... same things happen with every attempted page change too.

Not sure what to tell you, Marc. I'm using Google Chrome on a Dell T7500 running Windows 7 Professional, and I'm having no problems at all. Every Finescale page loads extremely fast on my end. Maybe you have some settings incorrect in your Chrome settings?  You would think that if it's Chrome itself, it would do it for every website, not just Finescale's.

Long shot idea:

pubads.g.doubleclick.net sounds like a tracking cookie on your computer (not necessarily a bad tracking cookie). Wonder if a corrupted tracking cookie on your machine could cause this behaviour?

Maybe find it and delete it?

I don't know if this is even a valid idea or not, but it's what I'd try first.

That is strange. I've got the same operating system and mine smokes through it. I recently had a machine with XP on it and it crept through the sites while on Chrome. I literally could go complete a task in the house while things were uploading to PB!!

Dunno what changed but it seems to be ok now. Certainly nothing I did.   Weird.

Computers are weird. Just last month with my old machine there would be good days and terrible days, and then every once in a while she'd behave as though she just knew that there was a replacement in the mix and give me a really, really bad day.    Glad to hear you're doing better with it now though.
