i see lots of comments about the smileys and this or that button but, what i would really like is an editor at all! about 2 weeks ago it disappeared and now all i can do is post in plain text and i can't even put in paragraphs. on my post some one was kind enogh to tell me that i could put in paragraph breaks with html code!!!! i mean really! i did not change my computer, windows version, or IE version. I just no longer have an editor at all! what's up with that! Where did it go and how can i get it back?

That would be the case with me....works on my wife's 'puter but not mine....no toolbar at all. In the meantime, I've refreshed my memory in regards to BBCode formatting, and I can get by with that. Wink [;)]

Thanks for the fixes David.  I know some people didn't see your messages regarding the smileys etc in the other threads and were a little upset.  So thanks for your patience and hard work as always.  Smile [:)]

Thank you, David.

As a loyal subscriber, I just wanted to know what was going on, nothing more. An update or two would have been most appreciated.

David,

Thank you for your efforts, and obvious patience with the less than patient. I'm glad the smilies are back and prefer the popup window with the sample pictures as compared with the drop down list.

I confess I do not see the benefit of the image button, as it appears to just be an additional step to do before pasting the url. I think I shall just stick with pasting image tags as before.

I really like the ability of using strikethrough. I like it! Smile [:)]

edit: well the preview shows that strikethrough works, guess not. Back to the drawing table David!! No rest for the wicked! Big Smile [:D] /edit

So long folks!

I stand by my last post. That has been my experience with this transition, to date.

What I have noticed throughtout this transition to the "new and improved" website is the thunderous silence from FSM on certain issues, such as the lack of an Image button, to wit:

  • E-mails are ignored.
  • PMs are ignored.
  • Letters are ignored.

Is it just me, or is this part of a larger trend of declining attention to detail?

There have been several threads from David Voss explaining those things.  He's in the process of fixing the code for the smileys so that they work with the new Internet Explorer 7.  That was also part of the reason for the editor change.... so that it would work with IE7.

For the hyper link function.... type in your web link, hightlight it, the hyperlink button activates... then click on it.

Anybody notice (Dave, Amanda, Matt???) that the sticky notes have lost their grip?  They are being pushed down progressively further with new posts. At the moment the 1st sticky noted is at the bottom of page 1 and the next is on page 3.  Someone needs to call 3M!

I dislike this new editor, but have managed to get used to it... sorta...

hi dave-- as far as the new editor goes, honestly, it seems fine ,but so did the old one--  i am on a 'high speed' cable link (or so i'm told--lol) and have not experienced some of the lag that some of the other folks mentioned--- i do have a problem though--- since i had to to a system recovery on my computer, i have had problems with post responces being forwarded to me-- Amanda Bothe helped me out and it worked for a  day or so -- not working any more:(--you helped me once before-- my personal files were all screwed up-- totally my fault---- any chance you or Amanda could dig through my user files and find what is wrong?-- I am sorry to be a pain in the butt-- i can't seem to fix it on my end---- sorry i got off topic-- i am just a little frustrated-- thanks for a great forum and any help you can give:)--- treadwell-- tgcricu@yahoo.com

The editor works great David- thanks! I think I used it before in developing a website for a client- it looks like what we used.....

The client loved it. We showed them the editing interface and they said "Oh- it's Word!" LOL
