I'm glad it's working for you. However, I have no problem with IE8 on the site, so it's something with the way IE8 is configured on your end. You can uninstall it and then reinstall it, and that might get you back to where you want to be.

Personally, I'd ditch IE8! Wink

http://www.mozilla.com will take you right to the fastest method of downloading it. Personally I use Firefox and only have IE8 on my computer so I can access Windows Update through it.

Firefox will import all your bookmarks, but it does do a few things slightly different (and better IMHO), but if you are tight on space, it can be removed in its entirety without trouble.

I just want to see if changing browsers helps.

Just get it from www.firefox.com

When you install it, you should be given the option of having it as your default browser, if you choose no Firefox will only open when you specifically click on it's icon & anything that currently opens in IE will continue to do so.

If your PC is getting on for the 10YO mark, I would advise removing Firefox if you dont like it as you will most likley need all the memory you can get.

Hmmm, strange that you are getting the same effect on two different computers, when I can't duplicate it on mine.

I was hoping for the wireless mouse, as one I have was driving me crazy, until I remembered to change the batteries!

Do you feel up to downloading a different browser? Firefox is pretty stable, and a bit faster and more secure than IE8.

Bgrigg

So all that tells me is that it isn't an IE8 issue. There's something going on with your computer.

Just a hunch, but are you using a wireless mouse?

Bgrigg I just tried another computer brand new with windows 7 and have the same trouble.

Type a parcial line in normal font and color then ( change this work to red bold ) then back to normal again.

the bold type will change for me however the color change will send the curser back to the first word in the first line or to the top of the page. Its really screwing up the front page in my group.

This is a tired old computer 10 years old or so, still using windows xp.  I am using a usb wired mouse, I do use a wireless router but I am hard wired to that.  I belong to another board also and dont have this trouble there.  Hummmm to rule out my computer let me try it on another one. I will let you know what happens, give me an hour or so.

Okay, I'm running a test to see what happens.

Changing size and color!

Works fine! Even when editing. All done using IE8.

You've made sure your settings are as described above, and then come back and find they've reset?

Could be a browser related issue. I was having an issue a couple weeks ago that the window was resizing when I tried to insert an emoticon. I had to uninstall and reinstall Firefox.

Hey guysThank You   for clearing this up for me I was going to ask the question my self. Now each time I try and change the font size or color the curser goes back to the begining of the line and wont let me insert a larger or colored font in the middle of a sentance as above, do I have to do this each time I want to change font size or color ? Or do I have something set wrong.

Any help with this question ?? I had to do the above using cut and paste to get it to work.

Thanks for the reply Bill!

Hmmm... I wonder if it is because the post I am trying to edit is from before the changeover.  The colored "A" isn't there.

Tried to edit this one too, but no joy.  I wonder why?

Changing font colors in a post?
Posted by Daywalker on Monday, December 14, 2009 10:19 AM

I was editing a post of mine, but could not see a way to change the color of the font.  Has this been disabled, or am I just missing it?
