.....actually, you are off by a few decimals. I expect it to be closer to $2, 290 depending on whether I can make a sheet metal break to bend sheet aluminum trim and if I can get  away with just a new hot water heater anode.

Whoooo-eee ! !!!  Have hot water heaters gone up in price !

Possible misc cost would be grout ; never did get to re-grout the brick exterior though it still appears in good shape.

Though I climb up on the roof each year to check for CATastrophic damage, I was late this year due to sanding, caulking and painting....meaning - off-line from FSM.

My apologies if I'm coming off prudish about the thread. Really I don't care and have made about 2-3 posts in the thread. I agree that not everything has to be modeling related or serious at that. I recall the early days of the forum, when a couple of members (shermanfreak and Dwight ta ala) would take photos of members and photochop them. It was irrelevant, but hilarious and inspired great comraderie.

To my knowledge there is no search engine to find the most pages.  I did happen to know that several group builds have gone over 100 pages and a quick look at the group builds did show one that was over 700 pages.  All I did was scroll through the pages in the group build section and found it.

The 229 thread is a social gathering, nothing more. Guys go in there to hang out and shoot the breeze. No harm, no foul. It gets a little boring to go to every build thread and post a 'Hey, nice job'. And yes, a lot of very experienced people are participating in the 229 thread - but as far as I can tell that has not prevented any of them from participating elsewhere - heck it may even be encouraging them to spend more time here so they don't miss anything - and they all offer plenty of good advice and comments when they see a need.

And the 229 thread DID accomplish something - so far it has spawned at least one Group Build...

And I'm glad you mentioned the 229 GB. It may be the only "off-topic" tread ever to spin off a legitimit GB in Forum history...of course, there are some who will remain unnamed (Vance) who are giving the 229 GB a bad name...

And some cool "badges", pics and vids have also come out of it...hmmmmmm, maybe this thread will be the next "229 thread"...

   And many of the regular participants in that thread are more experienced members who could really contribute valuable content.
