I'm glad that you found your way back, although it sounds like we could
have done a much better job in communicating the changes.
As part of the update, we moved to a new registration system. The
new system didn't know anything about your old account on the FSM
forums. The notification message you received was sent to the
email address you would have registered with on the old FSM forums.
As part of the registration process, the reason why you were asked to
make a choice was to select which screens to display. If you
weren't a subscriber, then we didn't need to ask for your customer
number. Same with the access code, if you weren't going to use a
newsstand code, then a simpler form could be used. The intention
was to streamline, not to be rude to our customers or force them to
become subscribers.
If you're partial to your old forum account (forum name and posts), I
can swap out the forum accounts. You'll just need to let me know
what you're old forum name was. If you click on the email button
below, you can send me an email with the information.
