HI Guys(and gals) My name is Alan and I have been modeling for the past 25 years of my life. I am 36 years old and got into modeling because of 2 things. One, that my aunt And uncle bought me models to keep me quiet and occupied when they babysat me. My Uncle was really a fix it man and loved to teach me how to put the models together so i always looked foward to going to "the corner store" to buy a new car, plane or aircraft carrier kit. Second, I saw the movie Star Wars and was blown away at the age of 5. I have always been intrigued about how they made the models and how they kitbashed everything. I remember putting the Darth Vaders tie fighter kit way back in 78 and flying it aroung in my backyard (this was done even before the toy of the tie fighter was even released) I started to do the modeling on my own soon after, I did most of the Star Wars kits, lots of cars, the Revell Robotech kits from 84, Space Shuttles, etc.. when I entered hight school, i switched to military modeling. I became fascinated with the work of Francois Verlinden ans Shep Paine. I became a member of the IPMS for a couple of years. Now i mostly do genre stuff from movies or TV. I love the freedom that i have working on things that do not really exist. I have also started my own business called Digital Realm Models selling new and vintage collectable model kits (as well as the occasional build up). I mostly deal with OOP genre kits but, i have lots more. I sell as New Jersey cons such as Chiller Theatre and Creation cons. Here is my website for anyone interested www.joeacevedo.com/digitalrealmmodels thats it about me and my love for this hobby, I hope to contribute much to this forum Alan
