Yes welcome, indeed.  Also, don't be afraid to show pictures of your work here. We'd be more than happy to offer encouragement and give any tips we can. That's how I got to the level I'm at. Oh, and build. Lots of kits.

Welcome, you picked a great place to come when starting.  I wish I found this place on my first round of modeling.

Some of the best modelers I know of are on here, you will find out who soon enough.  Just look for pages of replies in the 30s to a certain wip, and someone else's car build being in the recent FSM...Whistling [:-^].

Best thing about this place, is everyone is so friendly, dont be afraid to ask anyone anything, we are all more then happy to answer any questions.  (actuially there would probably be a massive problem is someone refused to tell a technique)

Could not have said it better! I've experienced it!

Hi wierbear,

Welcome to the forums and to the hobby.

Great to hear you're enjoying things so far, fun is what it's all about.

If you get stuck with anything, just ask. Someone here will have done it or tried it before and will know the answer.

Have fun... Big Smile [:D]

I went in search of a new hobby a few months ago and discovered I had two 15-year-old plastic model kits in my basement. A quick trip to the hobby shop for supplies and I am having a great time building a Monogram 1:72 scale F-15 and a Tamiya 1:35 M113 APC. I really need to develop skills, but even when I don't really know what I am doing, I still can have fun--and I can only get better! My mom was wondering what to get me for my birthday in September and I asked for a subscription to FSM, the first issue arrived two days ago and I am hooked, at the ripe young age of 45.
