Predator and Prey: Jagdwolf and Urbanlamb
Posted by Jagdwolf on Thursday, October 16, 2008 10:25 PM

And we'll let you folks figure out which one is which. Big Smile [:D]

Anyhoo, we are 43 and 34 respectively, and I have been building off and on for the past 36 years. As some of you know by now, my little lady is just starting out, and enjoying it immensely. (Since I have switched to Vallejo exclusively, I'm allowing her to "constructively acquire" my other lines of paint: Gunze, Model Master Acryl and Tamiya). My own area of interests primarily cover the Focke-Wulf 190/152/154 series (including a few one-off "what-ifs") and military sci-fi, although I have dabbled in some other subjects such as dinosaurs, WW1 and WW2 fighters, attack helicopters and police squads.

What got me started into modelbuilding was the restrictions I had placed on me after open heart surgery when I was 7, and the subsequent installation of my first pacemaker (currently on my sixth) prevented me from enjoying the full range of activities kids that age and older could participate in. My father worked for Coca-Cola at the time, and the annual Christmas parties the local branch held found me given a model of the HMS Bounty. (And would you believe I still have it?Make a Toast [#toast]) Next up was the original AMT "Star Trek" kit of the USS Enterprise, followed by a range of WW2 and modern fighter kits over the years. And yes, all of them are still in my possession; probably explains why my little "soft wolf" claims I'm a packrat.Whistling [:-^]

Indeed he IS a packrat Propeller [8-]

But that is working out to my benefit, as It seems that whenever I say "I need...", or "I'm looking for...", his invariable response is "I have it". Laugh [(-D]

He's working on his Focke-Wulfs, and I in the meantime, have become enamoured with the Bristol Beaufighter.  We'll post pics as our projects move along.

Cheers to all and nice to meetcha!

(and as to who the predator is and who is the prey...Whistling [:-^]...we'll all just go along, for his sake, eh? Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg])

Ancient Mohawk secret passed onto me by my mother's father. Wink [;)] (Yeah, I know, I have a German name, but that's because I'm of mixed German-Mohawk heritage. However, in the Haudenosaunee, we follow the mother's lineage, not the father's.) The trick is to catch them when they're young and train them to love models and embrace the ultimate ectasy of building them. Laugh [(-D] It takes some time, but if you have the patience, your perserverance will pay off eventually. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Now, can anyone tell me if there's a way we can cloak that statement so the gals won't see it and figure out what we're trying to do? Whistling [:-^]

Hey Puma!

Nice to meet you, the 'old dog' has told me all about you...all good stuff, I assure you!

*scratches the wolf behind his ear*

No worries about him, he's in good hands with me....a good tummy rub, a soft nuzzle, and he's good to go. Big Smile [:D]

We just picked up my Beaufighter kit, and I'm anxious to crack 'er open and begin!  I'll start a new thread and post pics as I progress, promise!

hugs to all, and y'all stay outta trouble!
