armornut, thanks for your reply, i'am not to good at this internet stuff,so excuse my imperfections. i live in port orford or. southern oregon coast, no hobby shops here or at least a three hour drive to get to one. if you know a internet site around this area please e-mail me that info.i have what i call my bunker,where i build my 1/35th scale models and dioramas,it keeps me sane. are you into armor? nobody here that i know of builds models.my 12yr old is building his first ship model,wish him luck.  thanks again armornut!   best reguards,"monkeyman"

 welcome to the forums "monkeyman",this is a great place to share ideas and info,however if your looking for a face to face try to find a model club or a railroad group that meet regularly,i would invite you to our club but the commute to Spokane Wa. might be a little tough. local hobbyshops,county fairs,anywhere folks show up to show off crafts would be another way to meet like minded folks.    BTW thankyou for you service and welcome home
