Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Just wondering about those that are near my location in Houston, TX? Just curious to know if anyone knows anything about the local IPMS club here. Planning to attend the IPMS show in Stafford in April ... anyone else?

Howdy all. I just got back into modeling about 2 years ago after about a 10 year absence. I'm located in Houston, and mostly like to build WWII US aircraft .... and mainly 1/48 bombers at that. Yep ... BIG ones! However, after returning from my last deployment (yes, I'm Military), I've been more interested in build in the current period. I've been working on Verlinden's 101st Airborne 120mm figure, sanding and scratch built it to be a Soldier from about 2006-2007 (a lost buddy is the inspiration). I'm also working on 2x Tamiya M1025, upgrading/ scratch building them into M1114 HMMWVs, with about 10-15 figures standing around them.

On the back burner: Monogram 1/48 B-17G ... modeling my grandfather's old ship. Tons of detailing that of course were closed up with the halves were brought together. Monogram C-47, being modeled in flight w/ a D-Day stick dropping out. And something that I've never tried before ... a modern era jet fighter. Revell's F-117 modeled on display w/ all ordance displayed in front of the fighter. Using a mirror base to get the full effect. I've also got a few other 120mm figures that are stacked up on the corner of the desk.

Guess that's it on me.... Glad to be here and back to modeling...
