Brit moves to USA and need to find great resources
Posted by Andiroo on Sunday, February 8, 2009 4:26 PM

Hi All

I am an intermediate level modeller / builder who has just moved from the UK to the USA. I have some 'ok' local model shops but would like to know of some great online resources for models / equipment / paints etc. Main main interest in WWII aircraft but from time to time i also make other military models.

 All help welcombed.

Many thanks

Andy

Sign - Welcome [#welcome] to the forum and the other side of  the pond, where are you in the states? as for online stores you have squadron, sprue brothers just name a few both have decent turn around time but sprue brothers turn around time is better in my opinion.

Welcome to the Forums Andy Sign - Welcome [#welcome].  Squadron, Great Models & Sprue Brothers are the on-line sources I use the most.

Welcome to the US, hope you like it here. What I would do is find a LHS if there is one local, and maybe join a club. I'm not sure as for on-line shops as I don't believe in credit cards (atleast for me too easy to get in trouble,I did when I was younger lol). I do hav a debit for emergencies. If you happen to be in or near Jersey I can help you locate several good shops..

Again welcome to both here and America,

John

I use www.internethobbies.com quite often. Lots of Verlinden goodies there. Nostalgic plastic is also a good source for Anigrand models and others. Oh and +1 for Sprue brothers. Also Ever try Ebay???

PS Welcome to the states!!!
