Welcome, from Hamburg MI(just N. of Ann Arbor) I visited Marlette on my solo cross country flight for my private pilot cert. Pretty desolate!! 7 deer tried to thwart my effort to take off! Post some pics and come out to Bay City, Apr 18. (midmichiganmodelmakers 25th contest)

As far as conversions, not much help here. I do know HO(train) is 1/87,  54mm=about1/32 and 120mm is the size of a G.I. Joe action fig. 1/16.

Welcome to the forum. I like yourself took a long time off, 20 years in my case.

I once used about 5 thicknesses of 2-ply Scott's tissue to make a canvas GP Small tent. If I remember correctly, I used 2 parts Elmer's to one part water mixed thorougly with a very small wisk.

Where are you in Michigan? My wife is from Boyne City.

Sign - Welcome [#welcome] back to the hobby, and to the forums!

I am not certain about the glue/water ratio, and the conversions you seek I do not know either.  Hopefully, someone who does will be along shortly.

I've just recently started back into modeling after taking several years off.  I actually have picked up where I left off with converting an old Russian military truck to an old farm truck.  I guess you would say scratching building is my favorite but everything I build gets "beat up" and/or rusted out.

I do have a couple questions though. Banged Head [banghead]  I've read about soaking tissue in white glue and water to make canvas, etc.  What ratio of glue to water do you use?  Also I would like to know the conversion of model railroad scales (mm) to plastic models (fractions).

Thanks for eveyones help and its good to be back!
