Hey Boomerang, great to hear from the great "down under" and welcome back to you too.Sorry to hear about your bad experiences in clubs. Here in the USA most clubs are great.but sadly enough IPMS gets new members but to my knolege cant keep them,What started as a pretty good idea is now infested with politics and most good people wont put up w/ it so they leave. Its that simple. The other 2 clubs in town are all about egos. That may seem harsh but 20 yrs.of experence finaly gave me a bellyfull.AMSO Okla.City beleves beginners are GOLD!Anyhow, thanks for writing, and shairing.Bobby Jones AMSO Prsident(and quite Proud of it)Oklahoma City,Ok.USA

HOLY HANNAH!!!   2000 +..Whistling [:-^].....has our own Mr. Rob Gronovius finally met his match?!!

C'mon, you have to produce pics of your stash, Rob has posted his and it is mind blowing!. I am not asking for competiton (none of that on these forums) or to boast (none of that either) i just want to see, as i am sure lots of others would too....

Hi amsobob, i have just come back to the forums. You are going to love this place. I once attempted to join a couple of model clubs and had no success. Maybe i just chose poorly, but the people i met didn't deserve to put into the category that i have always put real modelers into. On the other hand, the modelers you will find here are what it is all about. This is the best club i have ever come across. This place is addictive, and seriously, i had withdrawal symptoms while i was away!

You said you are new to the web/being online? You will learn quick here, the flow of helping comments is always right there. Just ask and someone will come a running.

So, Sign - Welcome [#welcome] amsobob, nice to meet you..

Posted by amsobob on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 5:14 PM
Greetings from central Okla.My name is Bobby,Iam the current president of the Best Modeling club in Okla.(non i.p.m.s ).We broke away from Big brother over 5 years ago and never looked back.Beleve me confidence and enthusiam is high.SoapBox [soapbox].Anyhow,I have been fondeling plastic since the 2nd grade and am now in my early 50s.I own over 2000 (yes, thats 2 large)unbuilt kits so I think that qualifies me as much as a collector as a builder (lol).I dont sell on e-bay ,but do buy ,sell,& trade on occasion.I like all venures & media of modeling. And have lots of all of it and would like to thin some of it out(so would my wife.wink,wink).Our club actualy ENCOURAGES AND HELPS BEGINERS.(what a concept huh?)a concept seriosly lacking in 2 other ipms clubs in okc.20 yrs.of experience there.dealt with it all. Thanks for reading this.hope to hear from most of you soon .Bobby J.
