Welcome back to the hobby and welcome to the forums.

I too, find myself hitting the model desk after the wife and child are in bed. I also try to get my little girl involved by letting her help me to chose what to build next, markings, etc. Gets her interested in what I,m building and gets me more time building.

There's a great bunch of guys in here ready to help, give comment, and sometimes opinion. Hope you like it here in the forums.

Welcome back to the hobby! It sounds like you have a dream job for many modelers being around your inspirations on a daily basis! I think there is an IPMS chapter in Antelope Valley up your way that you may want to check out in your spare time to help you get back in to the hobby.

dusting off the skills after 10 years...

So after about a 10 years of not cracking open a kit, I have decided to give it a try again.

My name is Alan, and I am a Civil Engineer that works for the Air Force out at Edwards AFB.  I admit, seeing a lot of the aircraft I used to model on a day to day basis has had something to do with my return to Scale Model Building.  Everyday on my way to work, I pass the old '08' B-52B.  My favorite aircrafts on base are the F-4C that is sitting in front of the FAA building on Base, and the YA-10B in front of the Museum.

My modeling experience is realy quite vast.  I started building when I was only 9 years old, and I kept building right up through college.  I built everything from Sci-Fi kits to 1/35 scale armor.  At one point, the ceiling in my room looked like a dog fight over Europe during WW2, as I built a lot of the Monogram 1/48th scale bomber kits, along with the escorts (p-51's) and the interceptors (me 109s).   I used to keep a 5 gallon air tank in my dorm room that I would use to airbrush with.  After college I did some building, mostly armor, but family and career took its toll on my time.

Well, now I would like to start building in the eveings again after the kids go to bed.  I like the idea of some group builds, and perhaps I will try to participate in a few of those.

See yall around the forum!
