Re-Introducing Myself
Posted by Tango Juliet on Saturday, June 20, 2009 4:20 PM

I've been away from this forum since the early part of '06, and in fact away from Plastic Modeling also.  Then, I went by "IrishFan" and was living in Groton, CT.  In April of that year I returned to the Gulf Coast, after leaving in the wake of Katrina.  Upon my return to a more tempurate climate, I got back into R/C modeling and that's where I've spent my time and money since.  I've come back to the forums by way of researching a subject for a Scale R/C model, the Grumman AF-2S/W Guardian.  There are many techniques that crossover to R/C modeling and I needed to stay abrest of the newer ones so that when the time comes to detail my aircraft, it will be worthy of competition.  While some PM can be detailed and finished in relatively short time, many of the best Scale R/C models take the better part of years to complete.  I may, and probably will, also work on a few PM's along the way since I've got 5 or 6 on the shelf in the closet, just to keep the skills sharp.
