Sign - Welcome [#welcome] to the forums, and back to the hobby!  As for the Chinook, it could be a rather ambitious first build.  As for something to begin with, Tamiya or Hasegawa 1/48 kits are generally easy to build, highly detailed, and make a wonderful re-introduction to the hobby.

As for a list of tools, there have been numerous topics on that one of late.  Try doing a search here for something, may find just what you need.

Hello,

I'm starting out again in the modelling world having last built something many years ago, but now have a little more time on my hands, I have a few ideas on what model that I would like to start building as my first project, I would like to build model aircraft/helicopters that I have skydive from.

The first project that I'm thinking of starting is a 1/48th scale CH-47 Chinhook, or would anyone suggest to start on something smaller just to get the good building technics right.

Because I'm starting out again from scratch, where do I start, a complete list of building tools required, books or online help that will help produce a good quality build that I could be happy with using good technics, guess over the years there has been many improvements in the tools that are available.

Any help will be most welcome.

Thank you.
