Hi! Welcome to the forums! A great place to start is by joining one of the many group builds, so you can post your working pictures, and get helpful hints along the way. It's also a great way to interact with a group (and you get a cool badge!) I think you will find most of us are "newly returned" to the hobby after doing it as kids, so don't think we know everything yet.

Hello all, got a subscription for XMas after having picked up an FSM at a local bookstore and leaving it laying around as a hint.  While wating for the first issue to arrive I have just been browsing around the forums and picking up tips/ideas and finally made a profile.  I am from Tulsa, OK and have been looking for a new hobby to get into and have always been interested in WWII history, so I decided modeling might help fit the bill.  Havent modeled since I was a kid so starting out fresh.

Biggest interest has always been in armor and vehicles (1/35 mainly, tried 1/48th and seemed a little too small for me to start with), but also plan to dabble in aircraft (1/48 and 1/72).

Started with a Tamiya P51 1/72 as a starter build.  Used it as a training aid on what I should be looking for in new tools/techniques to make the next model better.

A lot more to this then just slapping them together as a kid, but based on some of pictures people post, I can see the great builds people can do.  Hopefully as I progress with the stash of models I have already acquired from the LHS and online, and the tips/tricks/pitfalls I can learn from everyone on here I can make a model worthy of posting for everyone to see.

Thanks to all that post on these forums it has been a great place for a new guy like me to come to peruse and learn.
