The name's Evyn.

Hey everybody my name is Evyn and I am a very basic 17 year old modeller. I am will be leaving for Army Basic Training within the next 4-5 months. Because of this I only have a few months to really work on models before I leave home. I've started with the really simple Revell Snap models(pre-painted and everything, PRETTY LAME) but I have also mostly completed a Dragon German MG42 Heavy MG Team and a  Tamiya WWII European Theater U.S. Infantry Squad. As you can see very basic, but I gotta start somewhere. My favorite subject/era are WWI and WWII Axis/Ally aircraft, and WWII figures. My favorite aircrafts would have to be Spitfires, Hurricanes.

Evyn,

Modeling is one of the few areas of life I'm personally still relatively new at ... it's always good to be new at something ... gives lots of areas for continuous personal improvement and little victories here and there among the setbacks.

From my experience, the service can also provide many opportunities for improvement among the setbacks (granted, some service "setbacks" are way more intense than than those encountered in modeling). I want to echo the comments of the others, to thank you for taking the step and offering your service to your country and to your future fellow service men and women who I am sure will value your contributions.
