WW2 US Fighter "The BAT" ???????
Posted by Eugene Rowland on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 3:48 PM

Dear Friends --------- I have searched for years for info online for two things:

1. One of the last WW2 US fighter planes prototype known as "the BAT".  It was scratch built in the 1980s and appeared in a modeling magazine.  Does anyone have any information about this plane?

2. Also, there was a website that had extremely advanced ALLIED planes similar to the radical developments seen at the website "Left '46" .  In addition the that, I now recall seeing futuristic Fascist Italian designs also.  Any information about how to find this website?

Feel free to email me at rotwanger@yahoo.com with any information.  Thanks !!!!!!!

Hi Eugene,

I can't help with Q2, but I believe the aircraft in question is the McDonnell XP-67

as far as I'm aware, there are no "mainstream" injection moulded kits of this aircraft, but there is a resin kit in 1/72 scale by Anigrand, http://www.anigrand.com/AA2056_XP-67.htm

and I have found a review of a 1/48 scale kit by Collect-Aire http://www.inpayne.com/models/xp-67b.html
