Hi,

Stenscience I almost have the same problem: I have too small of a space for the layout I want. I'll try to bbuild a mini layout this summer. For now I'm back in the plastic again, I have to secure a bit of space for it too Confused

waikong hi, thanks for the welcome and for the tips. I'll try to locate a Reheat pe set off eBay. I'm not in a hurry, but the least I'd do is to use generic seatbelts and all ...

Welcome back to the hobby and to the forum!  The Horten kit is a fun one - I built one a few years back, just some fit issues here and there.  I had the version of the kit with the detailed engines. For aftermarket stuff, I know Reheat use to make a PE set, but reheat is out of business so you may have luck on ebay or such?

Hi Cem,

Glad to know.My "handle" over at marklin-users is the same as here: stenscience

I have actually been doing more scale modelling than model RR,because I don't have space for a layout.I need to get more pictures taken of my models and post to some group builds that I am participating in.I finished a ship model (Hansa Kogge) and a Westland Lysander since the last time I updated my progress. Probably this weekend.

Regards,

Stenscience

Hi Stenscience,

Yes, you're right, I'm a member at marklinusers.net Cool although I haven't been able to post a single message due to very busy work schedule Dead

What is your nick there?

I'll post my questions at the aircraft section.

Hi Cem,

Welcome to the forum. I think we both participate in the MRR Marklin forum (Juhan's), am I right? If so, good to see you over here.

I can't help you with the Horten. You might try posting your question in the Aircraft sub-forum-you probably will get an answer in minutes.

Regards,

Stenscience

Hi folks,

Thanks for the warm welcome, great to be here.

I hope to find a bit of time to take photos of my (unfinished) builds over the weekend. In the meantime I've added the Dragon 1/48 Horten to my stash. I'm hoping to start with it after a Trumpeter MiG 3 build.

Talking about the Horten, I haven't been able to find any aftermarket stuff for it. Is that the really the case or are they hard to find? And ... one more question: Trumpeter standart dashboards (sandwich type with film) looks to be a bit rough. So I thought I'd thin the clear part to achieve a bit better result. What do you think?

Cheers,

Cem.

Plastic virus kicks back
Posted by plasticaddict on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 1:35 AM

Hi all,

After 20 odd years the plastic virus kicked back a few months ago ... and wow! What a difference from 20 years ago! I really liked photo etch stuff, and of course abundance of 1/32 scale is another change from the past.

Checking out the available kits I decided to go 1/32 scale strictly with a very few exceptions (1/48 Horten being the first). I try to limit my kit-building to WWII Luftwaffe and related stuff.

At the moment I'm just warming up my fingers with a Trumpeter Yak 18 Max and an Eduard Bf 109E-1. And I'll have to admit that I have picked many good ideas from the forum posts; thanks for sharing.

I hope to be able to photograph my work so far soon for your comments and critics.

All the best,

Cem.

PS. My other hobby is HO scale model railroading and hope to share it here too.
